ABOUT MONIQUE

Monique White was named the new Hampton University head softball coach in September 2021 after serving three years as an assistant coach at Georgetown University.

White came to Georgetown from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) where she served as the assistant coach from 2014-18. With her primary focuses being offense and infield, she supported a program that finished each season with a winning record since joining the coaching staff.

White played collegiate softball at Daytona State College (DSC) from 2004-06 before finishing her career at Florida International University from 2006-08. She still stands atop the FIU all-time leaderboard in several offensive categories including most home runs in a single season with 17 in 2008; for her career, she hit .351 with 31 home runs in just two seasons, both of which rank second in school history.

After graduating from FIU, White played internationally for one season with the Gryphons in Rosmalen, Netherlands. After her playing career, White served as an instructor with GameOn Softball, while coaching at several Jacksonville, FL high schools to include Bishop Kenny, Episcopal and her alma mater Fletcher High. She was also named to the Swedish National team as an assistant softball coach in 2013 and helped Sweden place seventh out of 19 teams at the European Softball Championships.

In 2022, White started Mo’s Mindful Sport Performance Training LLC, which offers softball camps and clinics that provide sport-specific training while focusing on athlete development and overall well-being.

White received her Associate of Arts in communications from DSC and a Bachelor of Science in journalism with a minor in marketing from FIU. She completed her master’s degree in leadership, with distinction, from Embry-Riddle in December 2016. In 2019, White received her Mindful Sports Performance Instructor Training Certificate. Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement (MSPE) is a cutting-edge mental training program providing detailed guidance in building mindfulness skills (acceptance, awareness, attention, self-regulation) essential to consistent, optimal performance.
