COACHES
CAT TARVIN
Cat Travin is in her first season as Head Coach of the Texas Smoke. Previously, Cat was named the head coach of the North Carolina Central University softball program in September of 2021. She served as the NCCU interim softball head coach in 2020-21 and was an assistant coach for the Eagles the three seasons prior to that from 2017-2020.
VERNON BLAND
Texas Smoke Assistant Coach, Vernon Bland, has also been the Prairie View A&M head softball coach and ranks as the program's all-time winningest coach with 217 wins, and has been a three-time SWAC Championship winner, and three-time SWAC Coach of the Year recipient.
JESSICA JACOBSON
Jessica Jacobson has been named the Pitching Coach of the Texas Smoke for the 2024 season. of women’s professional fastpitch team The Texas Smoke after leading the William Paterson University Pioneers softball program.
