INFIELD

HOMETOWN: Houston, TX
COLLEGE: University of Washington

Baylee is officially joining The Texas Smoke as the second overall pick in the 2023 WPF draft and the first draft pick ever in the Smoke’s history. Baylee makes her way back to the Lone Star State after spending the last four years in the Pacific Northwest. Originally from Houston, Texas, Klingler has left her mark on both Texas A&M and University of Washington softball, where she majored in psychology.

In 2023, she was a part of the All-Pac-12 First Team and was unanimously selected as an NFCA All-American at first base. This selection made her just the fifth D-I student-athlete to earn All-American accolades at three different positions (1B, 2B, and 3B). She sits among the best to wear the purple and gold when it comes to softball, sitting at 2nd in career slugging percentage, and 3rd in career batting average and on-base percentage. She even sits at 6th for all-time batting average within the Pac-12, and won the Triple Crown in 2022 going .434 at the plate with 24 HRs and 71 RBIs, she was the first to do so since 1999, and only the 3rd to ever receive the honor in the Pac-12.

Prior to joining the Washington Huskies, Klingler played one season at Texas A&M University in College Station where she was selected for the SEC All-Freshman Team. It doesn’t stop there; Klingler represented her country as a member of the USA Junior Women’s National Team that took home a gold medal in the 2017 WBSC Junior World Championship. During high school, she posted a .569 career batting average and was ranked as the no. 4 recruit out of the class of 2018 by FloSoftball.
